Well, hello

I am so glad you are here! You know why? Because if you’re contemplating working with me, that means you’re getting serious about changing your life for the better. So spend the next couple of minutes here — I’ll fill you in on who I am and what I’m all about. After that, if you still have questions, shoot me an email so we can chat offline!

Who I am:

I was born and raised in Rochester, NY (Abbott’s Frozen Custard, anyone?). After graduating with a degree in social work, I spent some time in the field, but soon realized I wasn’t able to help people the way I wanted to. After a year of soul-searching, a family friend asked me, “Well, what do you love?” Immediately, I thought — FOOD! Food is and always has been my true passion — not just eating (because yes, food is and should be delicious), but every aspect: from where our food comes from, and how to prepare it, to what it does in our bodies, and how our nutrition directly impacts how we feel, both emotionally and physically.

From the words “I am going to be a dietitian,” I couldn’t have imagined that this path would bring me to you! My work has allowed me to come to understand and appreciate the connections we all have to food – and those connections are what bring the greatest purpose to my work. It’s so gratifying to sit one-on-one with a person, get into the nitty-gritty of their food behaviors, and help them discover what it means — and what it takes — to live their healthiest life.

Food. We need it. Our bodies depend on it.

I love all food — I swoon over crispy, roasted broccoli the same way I do over a freshly baked cupcake. But enjoying delicious food doesn’t have to mean you are “on” or “off” a diet. We have taste buds for a reason; but we also have a responsibility to our bodies to carefully choose the fuel we put in them. Finding the right balance can take some skill – but nothing we can’t handle together.

"HEALTHY" LOOKS DIFFERENT TO EVERYONE.

I truly believe that our bodies know what they want, and want what they need – whether a crisp apple, a glass of wine, or a piece of chocolate, I can help you listen better. The truth is we all have our own journey towards health. I’m here to help you find the path that leads to the healthiest you.

What I know:

Let’s face it: talking about what and how we eat can be very intimate. I get it. Nutrition is personal. But different as we all are, we all want the same things: to feel happy, healthy, and confident about ourselves. Right?! THAT feeling is what I strive to help you reach.

Know this: I am not into the quick fix. How many times have you started and stopped a “diet” in your life? Making changes requires work, persistence, patience, and goal-setting — so you want to be sure these changes stick. I do too. I want to help you feel confident about the choices you are making, so in turn, you can feel confident about yourself. Living a healthy life doesn’t mean being perfect, but rather, finding the perfect balance for you!

Listen, deciding to prioritize yourself by valuing your health is the first step. You did it. You’re here.  Now I can help you get there.

Let’s get started, shall we?
